The theme for this year’s is niwezeshe na white cane This theme clearly demonstrate the significance of the white cane to a person with vision impairment. The white cane therefore empowers a person with vision impairment to be self-reliant and thus contribute to the development of a nation.DSC 0826.22e

Observance of the Day is  aimed at sensitising the public on the role and significance of the white cane. It is a day that NCPWD engage with all stakeholders, share experiences on promoting inclusion of persons with vision impairment within our programmes and services.

Every year the Council provides various assistive devices to persons with disabilities. These devices include the wheelchairs, crutches, white canes, hearing aids among others.
