Council Signed an MoU with the County Government of Nyandarua.
The MOU was signed by Executive Director Mr. Harun M Hassan and Governor Francis Kimemia at the JM Kariuki Memorial Hospital in Ol Kalou.
The two parties agreed to jointly collaborate in empowering persons with disabilities through:
- Raising awareness on PWD rights as enshrined in our constitution.
- Provision of assistive devices to ease mobility to persons with disabilities.
- Conducting baseline survey for a better service provision to PWDs
- Mass registration of PWDs for better planning.
The executive Director noted that with disability being on the rise due to factors such as lifestyle diseases and road crashes, the demand to bring services closer to the people has never been higher. Hence, the Council invites more counties to partner in easing service delivery to PWDs at the ground level.
Also in attendance during the signing was First Lady Anne Kimemia – matron of persons with disabilities in the county and Michael Panther – Founder of Living with Hope.
