Post National Disability Inclusion Conference 2024

National Disability Inclusion Conference themed “Celebrating 20 years of diversity and inclusion in Kenya: Stories of Triumphs and Overcoming Barriers” aims to provide a comprehensive platform for persons with disabilities, policy makers, government officials, innovators, and stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions, knowledge exchange, and envision the future of disability inclusion.

It has been 20 years of thoughtful, pioneering, insightful, exciting, dynamic and progressive delivery of disability inclusion policies, processes and programs. The Council is collaborating with stakeholders to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of promoting disability inclusion in Kenya
The Anniversary will be observed to mark 20 years since the Council was established reflecting on the growth, achievements, key milestones, lessons learned in the promoting disability rights.

The milestones present a significant opportunity for us to reflect on our journey, honor our achievements, and chart a future course for the advancement of disability rights and inclusion in our country.

Inclusion Fair (27th - 28th November 2024)

"Bridging Gaps: A Journey Toward Inclusive Communities"
"United for Inclusion: Strengthening Community Through Collaboration"

The aim of the inclusion fair is to raise awareness about disability inclusion and celebrate diverse abilities by connecting individuals with disabilities, families, and advocates. It will showcase accessibility innovations, promote advocacy for policy changes, and provide resources. Government officials and stakeholders will highlight their inclusion initiatives, while the event encourages collaboration to develop inclusive practices across all sectors

Primary Objectives of the Inclusion Fair

i. Foster Innovation: Encourage and promote a culture of innovation among individuals and organizations.


ii. Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate the exchange of ideas, best practices and knowledge among participants.


iii. Collaboration: Create networking opportunities for potential collaborators,
investors and partners.

iv. Public Awareness: Raise awareness about the importance of disability inclusion

Key activities during the Inclusion Fair

i. Innovation Exhibits: Participants can showcase their innovations and programs through booths or displays.

ii. Workshops and Seminars: Organize informative sessions on innovation-related topics.

iii. Networking Sessions: Facilitate interactionsbetween participants, investors, and industry experts and business-to-business.

iv. Technology Demonstrations: Provide hands-on demonstrations of innovative
products and technologies

The County Disability Forums, 2024

A number of activities have been lined up to take place in all the 47 counties. These include county disability dialogue forums and ramping up service provision to persons with disabilities. The forums aims to bringing together key stakeholders, including development partners, government repreThe forums will be used as platforms for discussing milestones in disability inclusion across key sectors including education, access to justice, health, transport, policy, and legislation representatives, private sector actors, and persons with disabilities .

The one day forums focused on:
i. Reviewing key disability milestones achieved over the past 20 years in the county with a view of enhancing disability inclusion initiatives moving forward.
ii. Celebrating the contributions of individuals and organizations dedicated to promoting disability rights.
iii. Promoting public understanding of disability inclusion and rights.
