Today, the Council disbursed ๐๐๐ก ๐๐,๐๐๐,๐๐๐ through the Ustawi Scholarship Program, benefiting ๐,๐๐๐ learners across all 47 counties for the 2026 academic year. This achievement is an important part of our mission to ensure that quality education becomes a reality for Persons with Disabilities.
๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฐ๐ข ๐๐๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ is an integrated initiative comprising two key programs; the ๐
๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฎ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ, which supports primary to post-secondary learners, and the ๐๐๐ณ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ, which supports students whose parents or guardians are Persons with Disabilities. Through these initiatives, the Council is actively breaking down financial barriers and fostering independence.
Guided by the ๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐, the Council remains committed to inclusive and compulsory education. Recognizing that education is the ultimate tool for escaping the cycle of poverty, the Council has also established a dedicated Education and Mentorship program to provide specialized support.
While we celebrate this progress, we also acknowledge the hidden costs of disability.
We continue to offer support for therapy and essential supplies through the Our deepest gratitude goes to partners like the Kenya Pipeline Foundation and KCB Foundation for their incredible support. Together, we are ensuring that every learner, regardless of their disability, can maximize their full potential.
