(MoU) with MSI Reproductive Choices Kenya

Council officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MSI Reproductive Choices Kenya. This partnership aims to ensure that no one is left behind, particularly concerning access to essential Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to fostering a more inclusive healthcare landscape for all persons with disabilities in Kenya.

Through this partnership, the Council will actively work to mainstream disability inclusion across all facets of MSI Kenya’s service delivery. This involves comprehensive training and sensitization of staff to ensure they are equipped to address the unique needs of persons with disabilities. In addition to this, the partnership aims to enhance access to SRHR information and services by ensuring the availability of accessible venues, providing professional sign language interpreters, and strategically leveraging various digital platforms. A key component of this collaboration will also involve the development of inclusive communication materials, such as videos with captioning and sign language, to ensure information is readily accessible to all persons with disabilities. The Council will also spearhead efforts to advocate for increased investment in SRHR for persons with disabilities.

The Council remains committed to upholding Article 43 (1) of the Constitution of Kenya and the Persons with Disabilities Act 2025. This fundamental right guarantees every person the highest attainable standard of health, which explicitly includes access to reproductive health care. Partnering with MSI Reproductive Choices Kenya, the Council anticipates making a tangible and lasting impact in the lives of persons with disabilities across all counties, working towards a future where inclusive healthcare is a reality for all.
