The Council in collaboration with the commission on Administrative Justice, FIDA-Kenya, National Gender and Equality Commission organized held the first ever Legal Aid Clinic at the Council headquarters offices.
The event was presided over by Hon. Isaac Mwaura, PS Josepheta Mukobe, board chair Peter Muchiri and Council Executive Director, Harun M Hassan.
The objective of this program is to provide Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) an avenue where they can not only receive legal advice/representation but to also educate PwDs on their rights and empowering PwDs on accessing justice.
The clinic is schedule to take place weekly on Wednesdays after the pilot feedback and analysis. This is a pilot project aimed at boosting access to justice for PWDs and in the coming months this exercise will be taken to our regional headquarters across the country.
